Camaron Rebosado Recipe

A week before Christmas, I was already planning what to cook for our Noche Buena, though it would just be me, Daddy and Mike who's gonna celebrate together I wanted to make it special. I was thinking of something easy to prepare and would require a short time to cook since I will be coming from work that day. So, Camaron Rebosado, Baby Back Ribs TGIF style and pasta made the list. The Baby Back ribs of course is not an easy-to-prepare dish since it'll take like 2 hours to cook. Good thing I was allowed to get home early so I was able to get it done on time! :) Ok enough with my blah-blah! Let's get down with the recipe!

Camaron Rebosado

 Ingredients:
1/2 kilo shrimp, peeled and deveined (leave the tail part unpeeled)
1 can Sprite or Mountain Dew
8 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
2 pieces raw eggs
1 tablespoon fresh milk
cooking oil (enough to deep fry the shrimp)

Instructions:
1. Marinate the shrimp in Sprite or Mountain dew for 15-30 minutes.
2. Combine flour, cornstarch, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
3. Add the eggs and milk. Stir until mixed well. (This will be a bit challenging if you'll do it manually. Patience is the key. :)
4. Heat the pan before pouring the cooking oil. Allow time as well for the cooking oil to heat up.
5. After making sure that the oil is hot enough, dip a piece of shrimp in the batter (except for the tail part) then deep-fry until the color of the outer part turns golden and the texture becomes crispy.
6. Remove from the pan then place in a plate with paper towel (to absorb excess oil).

This is best served with sweet and sour sauce! Serve immediately before it turns soggy. :)

P.S. This is my first time to try this one out but it really went well. Just stick to the instructions and follow the measurements of the ingredients strictly and everything will be perfect. But please do remember, shrimp needs just a very short time to cook. So FOCUS. :)

Feel free to comment if you tried this recipe, have tips or other version to make this recipe even more delicious. Thanks! :)

Just a poem

Out of the blue I decided to check my friendster account http://profiles.friendster.com/4293597 and surprisingly, there are still pending comments and requests waiting to be approved. Oh well, I stumbled upon my fs blog and here is one of the poems I published publicly. This was when there was a HUGE gap between me and my close friend. I was like so confused back then on who to choose. Good thing we had an open mind and soon patched things up. :) This was way too old! :)

"humor".. feels like im havin’ a tumor
the not-so-happening was so sudden
hesitating to go further more
for it’ll bring catastrophe to our haven..
as if i was under the chair
crumpled up with a lost stare..
confused with what determines the silence
affiliation was not merely dense
i found evry1 bothered
but no one actually answered
and i don't want to go on speaking
because i stayed there waiting..
"i have no idea what happened but now I am not the same."

Dig it? :) Hopefully I'd be able to find more! :)

Sci-fi. Religion. Adventure. Fantasy. Gossip. Drama.

I don't quite comprehend the acrid criticisms on Dan Brown's work. I'm definitely not a pronounced writer to know what really makes up a well written piece, but what I do know is that when a writer gives a feeling of excitement, entertain and awe his readers, then he had done his job.

Anyway, I'm not here to give review on his books. Just here to post those that I found interesting this '09. Some have been read, while some are still on queue. :)

One of my messy book shelves

Greek mythology lover? Fantasy? Adventure? Oh boy Percy Jackson's books didn't take too long for me to finish. The gods were not your usual elderly ancient gods! They were futuristic gods which made them look cool and funny. The story doesn't focus on the gods themselves, which would be sooo boring if it was, but more on the demi-gods. I would really recommend this to friends. You can also watch the movie first if you're too lazy to start  reading the first book. :) You already know that there will be missing scenes whenever a book is made into a movie. You do know it, right?

Last but not the least,

Mike's Droid X's camera kinda sux at dim light

Dig pretty girls doing bad things? O-oh. I know! I know I need to finish em' all! I don't have much to say yet about these Pretty Little Liars. :) So, I have to leave this post hanging. I have to get my hands on Ratchet and Clank first. That's multi-tasking! HAHA! Coz  I'm stuck with my man playing his Gran Turismo 5, I need to kick his butt for now. Buh-bye! :)

Petty buys @ forever21 / VS

So after work, me and my man decided to meet at 34th St near Macy's. Not surprised by the people swarming infront of Macy's. A lot of stores are already preparing for the parade tomorrow for Thanksgiving Day. :) Expect a lot of once-in-a-year deals at shopping stores! As we pass along, I was inspired by this big thingy Christmas lights that says...

We went on walking, walking.. Finally it pierced through me. I BELIEVE.. I believe that I need to check out forever21 and VS store sale. And so I did.. :}

3 for $15 only (Reg price $12 each)

Don't be fooled by the look that they got, prices range from $2.80 - $4.20 only!
The chunkier the better.

I'm loving chunky rings these days. :) A must-have for the ladies' closet.  ♥

That would be all for now dear. :)

make-up is LOVE

Decisions. Decisions. I've been contemplating whether I would make reviews on beauty products that I use and those that I recently bought. Would this be a good idea? I know this will require a lot of work but hey it'll be fun. (that's what I think.) So, I have a long weekend to think about this.

Not a virgin yet not an expert.

Yeah, it's not my first time. The first blog I made when I was 18 (which was last year, lol) was not a total mess but I realized it was all about my literary works (poems, essays) in relevance to my ex's. As my past relationships started to dissipate, my 1st blog goes down the drain as well. So hopefully, I'd keep up with this new one. Stay tuned! We're just starting! A lot of things still needs to be done. Touch-ups, edits. Urgh. Surely I'd be needing some help from friends. Calling out to @diannemarlice :)

P.S.Please deal with my blog coz' ..
